COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Christian Newswire — The John Jay Institute, a para – academic leadership development center based in downtown Colorado Springs, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Summit Ministries in Manitou Springs. Effective this coming September, the Institute will be sharing student housing facilities with Summit Ministries.
During the previous academic year the Institute housed its students in the former Hearthstone Inn on North Cascade Avenue in downtown Colorado Springs. Purchase of the Hearthstone Inn remains an option for the Institute’s anticipated program expansion.
In the meantime, the new arrangement will allow John Jay Institute Fellows to be housed at Summit Ministries on its Osage Avenue campus in historic Manitou Springs.
The partnership not only provides Institute Fellows with an excellent housing residence in the charming western community of Manitou Springs, but will in effect save the Institute tens of thousands of dollars in operating expenses for the next academic year. Institute classes, lectures, and special events will still occur on the downtown Colorado Springs campus of Grace Church and St. Stephen’s at 601 N. Tejon Street.
"I am most pleased about our new partnership with Dr. David Noebel and the Summit Ministries team," said John Jay Institute President Alan Crippen. "The sharing of facilities is simply good stewardship of ‘Kingdom assets.’ The fact that Summit Ministries and the John Jay Institute share many of the same core values, goals, and objectives makes this partnership even more exciting to me personally. I have the highest regard for work of Summit Ministries and we have previously accepted their alumni among our graduate student fellows. I fully expect that this will be even more commonplace in the future."
Dr. David Noebel, the Founder and President of Summit Ministries commented, "We are delighted to work more closely with the John Jay Institute in its mission of preparing principled public leaders. This is a task that has been close to my heart and calling for many years. I appreciate the vision of Alan Crippen and value him as a co-entrepreneur for Christian worldview education."
