For those who see the specter of a new Christian Mingle or Match.com, Bressler clarifies: “This is not a dating site nor do we encourage dating, but simply providing an environment for God-blessed fellowship between single adults in the NAPARC churches.”
Looking for that special someone? Committed to marrying in the Lord? If you are a Reformed/Presbyterian single, NAPARC Singles is the Facebook group for you. Only adult, single NAPARC (North American Presbyterian and Reformed Council) members in good standing can join the group. The group was founded recently by layman Jerry Bressler of Greenville, S.C. Bressler founded a similar group 3 years ago for Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) members, but has created this new one to reach a larger audience. Unlike OPC Singles, NAPARC Singles requires church membership but does not ask for references from the applicant’s pastor.
Bressler, 37, makes no secret of the fact that he is looking for love. But his vision extends well beyond himself. Many smaller congregations seem to have too many single men or too many single women. But by making the pool of potential spouses a bit larger, Bressler believes that the Internet can increase fellowship with others by providing a godly environment for single adults in Reformed denominations to meet and build God-blessed relationships.

In other words, members do not fill out profiles and the group makes no effort to match people with each other. Dating is not a requirement; the group leaves a healthy space for God’s providence to work. So far, over 60 people have joined.
With NAPARC Singles, single adults in North American denominations now have another way of engaging members on Facebook across the nation and globe. Of course, Bressler hopes meeting online will be just the beginning! You can visit NAPARC Singles by going here.
