The Great Lakes Presbytery of the PCA announces the following moves:
TE Kreg Bryan from Hudson, OH to Kansas City, MO
TE Brian Allred from Demotte, IN to Yorktown, IN
RE Ron Jakubowski, Hudson, Ohio to be Stated Clerk of the new Ohio Presbytery
TE Kreg Bryan has resigned as Pastor of the Grace Church in Hudson, Ohio to accept the position of Headmaster at the Whitfield Academy in Kansas City, Missouri. Whitfield is a Classical Christian School with a current enrollment of nearly 200 from grades K-12, employing 16 full time and 11 part time teachers. Bryan remains on the rolls of Great Lakes Presbytery until he gets settled in his new home and position.
TE Brian Allred, who had been serving as an Assistant Pastor at the Good Shepherd Church in Valparaiso, Indiana planting a daughter church (Trinity Mission) in nearby DeMotte, has left to take the call as Pastor of the New Life Church in Yorktown, Indiana, moving to Ohio Valley Presbytery.
Ohio Presbytery, the newest PCA regional church, will launch in January. It will be made up primarily of churches that had been in Great Lakes Presbytery and a few from Ascension Presbytery. The new boundaries will be the northern half of Ohio, defined as follows:
to include all mission works and churches of Great Lakes Presbytery and the Presbytery of the Ascension located in “all of Ohio north and east of and including the counties of Mercer, Shelby, Logan, Union, Madison, Pickaway, Hocking, Vinton, and Meigs, and south and west of but not including the counties of Columbiana, Carroll, Tuscarawas, Guernsey, Noble and Monroe (see Exhibit B attached hereto for new GLP and Ohio Presbytery boundaries)”
It is expected that Ruling Elder Ron Jakubowski will be elected the first Stated Clerk at the inaugural meeting. Ron is a systems engineer (and certainly Presbytery’s can use that kind of guidance) and serves as Clerk of Session at Grace Church, Hudson. He previously served as Clerk of Session at Armor Bible Presbyterian Church in Orchard Park (Buffalo), New York, which recently came into the PCA.
